2024 Robin Lod Home Kit worn against FC Dallas on June 19, 2024

Robin Lod is a player that I absolutely love. He works hard on both sides of the ball, and can play multiple positions, each at an All Star caliber level. Combine that with the Starry Night kit, which might be my favorite jersey ever made, and it’s a match made in heaven. I was lucky enough to have Robin toss this jersey to me after the first half. Completing my Robin Lod collection of Starry Night and Northern Lights!

Below are some photos from the first half of the game with Robin wearing the very jersey that he gave me at halftime.

2023 Robin Lod Minnesota United Northern Lights Kit

I mentioned above that Robin giving me his jersey in 2024 completed my set of the Northern Lights and Starry Night kits. The best kit combo ever in league history.

So enjoy the photos of the wonderful and majestic Northern Lights kit.

2023 Bongokuhle Hlongwane Minnesota United Home Kit

2023 was a great year for “Bongy.” He scored 9 goals and had 4 assists. It was in fact his breakout year in MLS. But the underlying stats show that he was a player far better than his traditional stats. Among other MLS wingers, he was 98% in non penalty XG and 99% in blocks! A true two way player, something you don’t see a lot of. But as the stats show, he is not just a two way player, but a guy who was among the elite on both ends of the pitch. His xG was 13, so only scoring 9 shows he has some work to do on his finishing. But if he puts that together and couples it with his existing play, he could be destined for great things.

2023 Minnestoa United Emanuel Reynoso Home kit

2023 was the beginning of the end for Reynosos time in MLS. Showing up late and only playing half the season, it set the tone for what would be his exit in 2024. But even in just half of a season, Reynoso was ELITE. Check out the chart below comparing Reynoso to Messi.

The above chart shows us that his play in 2023 was comparable to the great Messi. The big drop of is in the pass completion percentage, which could be from subpar passing when compared to the GOAT, and/or worse runs and surrounding teammates. Which, is probably both. But regardless, you see Reynoso was elite at chance creation and actually contributed somewhat on defense as well.

Which is why I really wanted his jersey from last season. I don’t have $50k for a Messi game used jersey, but I was hoping to be able to get the guy who was closest to him in his play, and which statistically, wasn’t too far off. And, to no surprise, his jersey sold incredibly quickly. Before I could get it. I wont lie, I was bummed. However, I was told just a few days later that the buyer backed out and it had become available again! Something that has never happened before or since.
